The TestProject Agent will detect all the simulators it comes with and display them in the connected simulators list in the TestProject application:
If the simulators are still not detected even when Xcode is correctly installed, open the terminal (using Launchpad), and make sure you have an active developer directory by running the command below:
If you do not have such a directory, you’ll see the following message:
You can then proceed to use the following command, and then restart the agent to detect the simulators:
You can mirror any iOS simulator screen:
There is no need to have an Apple Developer Account in order to do this (on the contrary to IOS physical devices).
Simulators are launched headless, but you can also start it from Xcode and see it’s window mirrored in TestProject application.Common Issues:Simulators not detected
If the simulators are still not detected, try running the following command and then restart the agent:
sudo xcode-select -s $(ls -td /Applications/Xcode* | head -1)/Contents/DeveloperWDA Errors:
If you encounter errors when starting WDA on your simulators that are similar to this:
Try to run the following command to shutdown all XCode simulators running on the machine: Xcode Iphone Emulator
Then try to run your test again TestProject agent should automatically start the simulator.
